Berkeley Preparatory School Policy for Religious Holidays 2016-2017 The Rev. Peter M. Carey, Chaplain

Berkeley Preparatory School Policy for Religious Holidays  2016-2017
The Rev. Peter M. Carey, Chaplain

Please make note of the following holidays in planning your year.  Students who observe these holidays must not feel pressured to be at school.  Your cooperation is imperative. Please understand that students who miss school for any of these holidays must be given appropriate extra help when they return to school.  They must also be given a reasonable amount of time to catch up on missed work.  Since many of these days involved either religious services or family gatherings until well into the evening, students should not be expected to turn in material or take tests the day they return.  In order to avoid unnecessary conflicts, you should determine the amount and type of work you cover on these days, based on the number of students who are missing your class.  Since the divisions are no longer placing restrictions on what can be covered on any of the religious days, the cooperation and understanding of all faculty members is essential.
