Many many people like to use their Faith to bully others politically; I am not interested in this (well, I am somewhat interested in this, but I will resist the temptation, and use discretion)...not too much, anyway.
I do, however, wonder if the reading from the Gospel that we read on All Saints Day (read either today, or this coming Sunday) from Luke 6 might, in fact, guide any of our understanding of Jesus and earthly power (the politics of who gets what). In this case, the "politics" of who gets blessed....
What say we about Jesus and earthly power - while Jesus may not be a "democrat or a republican," he did have some clear things to say about wealth, poverty, serving others, forgiveness, and God's blessings.
So, take a gander at Luke 6, and consider what Jesus might have to say about "who gets what" these days...

- for yours is the kingdom of God.
- "Blessed are you who are hungry now,
- for you will be filled.
- "Blessed are you who weep now,
