From the Tampa Bay Times:
Football: Berkeley Prep 14, Victory Christian 13
Sat. September 6, 2014 | Ryan ButlerWith just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter, Berkeley Prep senior cornerback Antonio Johnson secured a thrilling 14-13 home win for his team by picking off Victory Christian quarterback Caleb Lewis’ two-point conversion pass attempt to receiver Alvin Harper. The Storm’s star receiver had burned the Buccaneers for 14 receptions and 159 yards earlier in the game, but he was denied when Lewis looked his way one final time in the end zone.
Drive of the game: Leading up to the denied two-point conversion, Lewis had lead his team on a 10-play, 98-yard scoring drive and a shot to snag a big early-season road win. Trailing 14-7 late, Lewis hit Harper for a 44-yard bomb on fourth-and-long and two plays later threw his second touchdown pass of the game.
Star of the game: Although Harper put up the game’s most impressive numbers, his main defender was the most important player Friday night. In addition to the pick on the conversion, Johnson also picked off Lewis in the first half deep in Storm territory and helped keep the Storm’s playmakers from making a potential game-breaking play.
