Phyllis Tickle coming to visit

Noted "emerging church" writer Phyllis Tickle is coming to visit today at a local church (St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Ivy) and I am looking forward to hearing what she has to say in person.  I've read some of her books and "seen" her on youtube, but am glad to be able to hear her and be with her in person.  Though I am pretty firmly ensconced in the "institutional church"  - as one who wears one of these funny collars - I think that many of the observations and questions posed by the likes of Tickle, McLaren and others are important ones.  We certainly live in a time of rapid change, and the church is, of course, affected by this fact.  So, on this rainy day in the midst of Advent, I hope Tickle will offer some ideas that get me thinking.
