Congrats to UVA head coach Dom Starsia

UVA Men's Lacrosse coach Dom Starsia has tied Jack Emmer for the most wins as a college lacrosse coach - 326 wins with an overtime win today here in Charlottesville.

Getting ready for Good Shepherd Sunday - Psalm 23 - by Eugene Peterson

I am not preaching this weekend, but the readings are all centered around the theme (if you want to go there) of the Good Shepherd.  So, Psalm 23 is one of the options.  I had a great time on Monday morning "throwing words around" with folks at the Mudhouse Coffeeshop in Crozet, Virginia, specifically looking at the lectionary readings for this Sunday.  The readings are pregnant with many images, elements, and ideas to dig into - and we had a great time.  I shared with them the translation/paraphrase from Eugene Peterson on the Psalm 23 text...quite good.

O God, my shepherd!

I don't need a thing.

You have bedded me down in lush meadows,

You find me quiet pools to drink from.
