He delights in us, Psalm 18:20

Psalm 18:20

20 He brought me out into an open place; *
he rescued me because he delighted in me.

Here's the thing, we spend so much of our time believing and living as if we need to earn God's love, we spend so much time and energy wondering if we are, truly beloved. All too often we live shallow lives, we live half-way, getting only our feet wet in the great ocean of life. Here's the thing, God delights in us! God delights in you! God delights in me! God experiences joy because of us. God experiences joy because of you. God experiences joy because of me.

We have spent a great deal of time in the thickets of life, climbing the dark trails of the incline, but God has brought us each into an open place, a place of salvation, a place of joy, a place of bliss. God has brought us each to an open place of salvation, not salvation as a thing that happens after we die but salvation as the quality of life that is given to us through God's grace and love. God delights in us, and we no longer need to live as if we were only half-way there. God has brought us to an open place, God has rescued us because he delights in us!
