Last night, I learned that our dear brother, the Rev. Hank White, transitioned to life eternal with our Lord. His body could no longer fight the horrific COVID virus.
Hank always had a quick smile, an easy way, and a deep love for the faithful at Calvary and St. Augustine. Last year, he sent me a moving letter of gratitude for presiding at the Burial Office for his departed wife. The letter spoke of hope, love, and prayer in a time of sorrow and despair. I pray we have the same hope and say the faithful prayers for our friend and companion on his journey.
Let us pray for all those who knew and loved him. Let us give thanks for his friendship.
Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant Hank. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.
Hank+ Well done, faithful servant, may the angels sing thee into the arms of Christ. My, friend and Priest, may you rise in glory. We bless you as you continue on your journey.

XVI Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania
